Cotswold Friends

A local charity providing Community Transport, Befriending, Carer Respite and Community Activities to older and vulnerable people in the North Cotswolds. Aiming to combat loneliness and isolation. The voluntary services improve health and wellbeing and support independent living.

Cotswold Friends was established in 1978 as a Community Transport Service. Since then, services have expanded to Befriending, Carer Respite and a Community Activities Programme, which includes Lunch Clubs and social and activity groups.

We are based in The Moreton Area Centre, High Street, Moreton in Marsh

We have 6 part-time members of staff and over 250 volunteers. In 2016, our services benefitted more than 1,500 older and vulnerable people in the North Cotswold community.

Overall management is the responsibility of the Cotswold Friends Board, which comprises a Chair and up to 9 Trustees. The Board meets a minimum of 6 times a year. Specifically, the Board is responsible for taking decisions on the strategic direction of the Charity, approving major expenditure, major developments and, through the Chair, giving support and supervision to the Chief Executive.
