Green Poet supports CDCH

The Cotswold Dogs and Cats Home were delighted to hold an exhibition of poems and illustrations from the books ‘Green Poems for a Blue Planet’ and ‘Verse for the Earth’ at Sofas & Stuff in Woodchester. The poems were written by the wonderfully fun Martin Kiszko, the UK’s Green Poet and the Poet in Residence for Bristol 2015 European Green Capital. Martin’s Eco-comical poetry for children and families helps a new generation understand and grasp the challenges ahead for a sustainable earth. From stranded polar bears to poo power Martin was captivating indeed. Along with the wonderful poems the books and exhibition featured illustrations from Nick Park, creator of ‘Wallace and Gromit’. The exhibition was in aid of the Cotswold Dogs and Cats Home which is coming along brilliantly with a 2016 launch ahead. Follow the charity online through social media to keep informed of future events including a sleep in at the new home. Martin has kindly let us play one of favourite poems in it’s entirity. Enjoy, the on the edge hog…
